Out In The Cold At Elk Grove Park

It was supposed to be hot and summery but the weather in Illinois is far from being sunny. So what can you do in a weather as chilly as January? Well, if you're a couple with a hyperactive toddler, staying inside to hibernate is not an option. So we went for a road trip, and though the weather is a little chilly and gloomy, we still found haven in Elk Grove Park - a place where kids can appreciate nature and its wilderness.

Instead of buying something healthy,

I buy Jollibee for my belly.

For everyone else in there seems jolly

So I should be like thee

Instead of paying for the light

I buy smart phones for the night

For everyone else has it,

Might as well grab one and get it.

 Instead of cooking something affordable

I throw a lavish birthday party. Oh! So delightful!

For everyone else does it

So might as well show them I can have it.

Instead of going out and get a job

I opt to stroll around with Bob

For everyone else seems to have money so limitless

So might as well do what everybody always does and care less

So why am I poor?

Because I don’t care about the future even before.

My judgment is poor and so is yours.

Maybe it’s time for us to do something and change our course.

A Flower's Wish

In the cold winter breeze,

I snuggled in peace.

Dreaming of the warm sunny rays 

That would soon touch my face.

Oh! How I long for the sun's warmth

To halt the chilly cold from the north

So I can open up my tiny bud

To welcome sweet summer in my blood.

 

Oak Park

A little dark cloud looming around the sky might not have been a good sign for an outdoor fun. But as soon as we stepped outside, the humid temperature, a little sunshine and an inviting breeze told us that it would be a nice day for a enjoying stroll in the park - and we didn't regret it.
